Jenna Suffern in association with bAKEHOUSE Theatre presents

IT’S NOT FUNNY, IT’S PRIVATE

Join Jenna as they bunker down in their living room to process the triple threat of a lifetime - getting dumped, being made redundant, and starting a career in standup comedy.

It’s Not Funny, It’s Private is a self-deprecating love letter to Jenna’s past relationships, her 18 year old cat Mam, and the Real Housewives franchise.

This loveable Lexapro lesbian is making their private life public. Get ready to feel seen (even if you don’t want to admit it).

DIRECTORS STATEMENT

When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. Or, if you’re a comedian, you turn the metaphorical lemons into an hour-long comedy show 4 years later.

“It’s Not Funny, It’s Private” is here to help you get through the worst week of life—particularly if you hit the trifecta: getting dumped, being made redundant and dabbling in a creative pursuit for the first time.

I was a fly on the wall during the time the events played out in real life for Jenna, so naturally she enlisted my help bring the show to life—only this time it’s funny and I haven’t bought her any donuts to try and help.

Enjoy!

Jenna's 18-year-old cat Mam for understanding why she was cut from the show

And of course, Jenna's partner Natasha Greenwood. For putting up with Jenna as she never knows how to say no to more projects, and for being their love and rock. Thank god you met after Jenna had gone to lots of therapy.
